On the other side of the road, I spotted a diner. Amidst all this madness and all this pain, people are taking the time to be human and to do the things they always do. A cup of coffee, a piece of pie, conversations about the weather... it's a bit overcast, but the sun might peak through the smoke later today. Have they lost their minds or have I lost mine? I made my way over, hoping that the mundane will seep into my bones. There are tables outside, most are empty. I sat down for a moment. Just a moment. Closing my eyes, I tried to get away. I heard your voice as you ran past. By the time I realized and got up, you were gone. I followed, but you weren't there.
